A Letter From Our Founder

Tribes of Wondervale didn’t begin as a business plan. It began as a question from my son.

One afternoon, while we were playing the kinds of games we love: trading card games like Pokémon, video games like Fornite, exploring imaginative worlds built by studios like Pixar and Marvel, he asked, “What if we made our own game?”

That simple question changed everything.

At the time, I had spent 20+ years advising and growing over 1000 businesses. I’d always been deeply involved in the highest levels of entrepreneurship and creativity, but I had never found the one single thing I wanted to dedicate the rest of my working life to, it was always helping others make their dreams huge. When my son asked that question, something shifted. Instead of asking which opportunity made the most sense, I started asking which one would matter most.

So, we began imaging the game, the characters, the universe.

For months we imagined characters, creatures with personality, tension, growth, and potential. We sketched designs, rewrote ideas, and refined personalities. What started as a fun exercise slowly became something much bigger: a world.

Eighteen months later, we had built a universe of characters we genuinely cared about. Not just for how they looked, but for what they represented.

From there, we asked a new question: could we create a game so fun we wouldn’t want to stop playing it ourselves?

We loved collecting trading cards, so we chose that format. But we didn’t want just one kind of experience. Sometimes we wanted quick battles. Other times we wanted depth and strategy. So, we designed both, two ways to play, built from the same cards.

There were months of testing, rebuilding, refining stats, balancing mechanics, and perfecting quality. Three generations of our family even became involved along the way, including my son’s grandfather, whose 50 years of printing experience helped guide us to ensure the cards met the highest quality standard possible.

Somewhere in the middle of that three years of work, I realized something important: this wasn’t just a game. It was the thing I had been searching for… a universe big enough to grow for decades, something filled with creativity and story, yet meaningful enough to pour everything into, and personal enough to build alongside my family.

Wondervale is built on that foundation.

It is a character-driven world designed to last. And, it starts with a trading card game built around identity, strategy, and growth. A universe created with long-term care, not just quick wins.

If nothing else ever came from this, the journey of building it with my son would have been enough. But we believe Wondervale can become something far larger, a world people return to again and again.

If you’re here, thank you for stepping into it and welcome to Wondervale.

Our Commitment

We are committed to building Wondervale with care.

That means:

  • Designing gameplay that is intuitive yet layered.
  • Protecting balance and fairness as the universe expands.
  • Prioritizing quality in materials and production.
  • Expanding thoughtfully rather than rapidly.

Wondervale is not a short-term release.

It is a long-form creative project.

We are here for the long haul.
